AI is booming everywhere - crazy!
Open up Twitter, LinkedIn, or even Dribbble and you'll see tons of AI-powered work implemented into designs. That's actually great! AI brings many more visual possibilities to delight our end-to-end customers/clients with less time investment while maintaining the same earnings.
But there's a big "but"...
By applying more and more AI, we're losing touch with a deep understanding of things. Basically, the best warlocks in this shadow-mist world will be those who can adapt AI into their processes while still getting their hands dirty with real knowledge.
Wondering what I'm talking about? Let's open up your mind. Completely and freely. Take AI Image Generators like the new ChatGPT-4, Midjourney, and many others. You basically get a new toolset in your hands. As a creator, you still create - through prompting. Seems easy, right? But as a Warlock, you can win or be defeated easily - because basic work can get lost easily in the shadows of dust.
It's simple.
Experts will still need to dive into their craft in different ways - and they will shine. Much more than ever. This is an era for all of us. It's a bit scary, yet very experimental and can bring us huge opportunities.
The prompting will become a part of our daily work, whether you want it or not - it's coming. As a designer, you'll need to work with something that involves AI.
Here's a small comparison of how you can beat your competition:
Basic prompt:
"Woman on the street holding a mobile phone. Sunny day, great atmosphere."

Enhanced prompt (warlock mode on):
"A selfie of a blonde woman with green eyes looking at camera. Standing in the middle of Madrid street full of trees and historical buildings. Woman is smiling. The woman is positioned on the left, while on the right is the rest. Captured on DSLR Sony A7 III, 35mm lens, ultra-realistic, 4K. Great atmosphere, sunlight. Camera mood."

See? Same idea, but with more complexity. By expanding your ideas and having an exact vision of sections and overall branding, you can communicate with AI much more effectively. I'm talking about not being scared of what's coming - play hard with AI's power, because it's something we can't walk around.
It's becoming a part of our daily work. We just shouldn't rely solely on AI if we want to be masters of our craft. Basically, think of AI as a new tool - your new addon to your toolset. While keeping your knowledge and skills sharp, continue working hard. AI tools are getting in on the act, promising to save time and create "cool" designs in a fraction of the time a human can. But are they really all they're cracked up to be?
