Webflow Pricing Explained: How Much Does It Really Cost?

When I tell someone "we'll build it on Webflow," the first question is always: "And how much will it cost me per month?"

And I always hesitate, because Webflow pricing is like an IKEA manual – looks simple at first, but once you dive in, you realize there are two different sections and you don't know which one you need.

Let's break it down into simple pieces.

Site plans are the main thing you pay for

This is the price for the actual website. Without it, your site doesn't run.

Basic is $14/month – your own domain, 150 pages, but no CMS. No blog, no dynamic content. Almost nobody picks this.

CMS is $23/month – this is what 90% of people get. Your domain, 150 pages, blog, portfolio, references, whatever dynamic content you need. Up to 2000 CMS items.

Business is $39/month – 300 pages, 10,000 CMS items, more bandwidth. For bigger sites with lots of content.

What you get

When you pay for a Site plan, you get the entire website. You can edit it in the Designer (change design, layout, everything). You can use the Editor for quick text and image updates. You can add blog posts. You can do whatever you want.

It's your site. You have full access.

Which one to pick

Basic works if you literally just have a landing page or simple portfolio with no blog. But almost nobody needs this.

CMS is what you want. Company website, portfolio with projects, blog, SaaS landing page. This is the one.

Business makes sense only if you have tons of content or traffic. But most sites are fine with CMS.

Workspace plans are probably something you don't need

Workspace plan is like a premium addon. You don't need it to run your website.

It's for freelancers and agencies who build sites for clients. It gives you better workflow features like client billing (client pays Webflow directly, not you), shared libraries (components across all projects), and team collaboration.

And the key thing: one workspace covers all your projects. Not one workspace per site.

Starter is free, gives you the basics to get started.

Freelancer is $16/month with client billing and shared libraries.

Agency is $35/month with advanced permissions and features for bigger teams.

When you need it

You don't need it if you're building a site for yourself or just want to run your website normally.

You need it if you build sites for clients, want better project management features, or work with a team.

What it actually costs in practice

If you're building a site for yourself: $23/month. Done.

That's it. No hosting on top, no plugins, no surprises.

If you're a freelancer building sites for clients: You pay $16/month for the Freelancer workspace. Each client pays $23/month for their Site plan.

So you have one fixed cost ($16) and each client pays for their own site.

If you're an agency: You pay $35/month for the Agency workspace. Clients pay $23/month each for their sites.

Things people forget about

Forms on the CMS plan have unlimited submissions. Basic only has 50 per month. So if you have a contact form that gets used, CMS is the safer choice.

Bandwidth is 50GB monthly on CMS. For most sites this is plenty. But if you have lots of videos or thousands of daily visitors, you might need Business.

Domain isn't included. Webflow technically sells domains but they're expensive. Buy it on Namecheap or Cloudflare and connect it to Webflow. It's straightforward.

Compared to other platforms

WordPress costs $5-50/month for hosting, maybe $60 one-time for a premium theme, $0-200/year for plugins, plus your time dealing with updates and security. Total: $100-600/year plus your time.

Wix or Squarespace run $16-49/month. Simpler than Webflow but less flexible. Total: $192-588/year.

Webflow is $23/month for a normal site with no maintenance and no plugins. Total: $276/year.

Is it more than basic WordPress hosting? Yes. Is it more than WordPress with a premium theme, plugins, and the time you spend on maintenance? No.

Bottom line

For a normal website you pay $14 - 23 monthly. That's everything.

You get a site you can edit however you want, has everything you need, and you don't have to deal with hosting, plugins, or updates.

If you build sites for clients, add a Workspace for $16-35 monthly for better workflow. But you pay that once for all projects, not per site.

It's not the cheapest platform. But it's simple, predictable, and it works.
