When was the last time work felt like play?

"Computer work is very easy." 🙄
"You can't say anything about your work on PC." 🤔
"You just sit in front of PC and get money for nothing." 😤

We all know that those who work with computers hear these weird comments from people around us. But honestly, none of them can imagine the challenging side of our work. As tech people, we put in effort and continuous learning to become better at our jobs. New languages and tools are constantly emerging that we need to understand, learn, and master 💪 Truthfully, none of those critics know what we do and how much time, effort, and consistency it takes to reach our current position or future goals.

With age, the feeling of joy isn't the same as in the beginning. We sometimes struggle with our brains to complete projects or maintain consistency in related tasks. 🧠

Indeed, this is very energy-consuming. That's why part of my journey isn't just playing computer games, but spending quality time with family and completely disconnecting from the digital world. Still, exploring new tools brings me joy. Even sitting in my chair during the evening and putting my thoughts on paper to share with you is enjoyable! ✍️

When I think back about my latest enjoyable work experience - it was part of a small gig building a site on Divhunt - basically a Webflow alternative with smart features and more affordable pricing. 💻

I took on a small project comprising 5 pages to craft it live in a week, including the Figma design part. I took a creative approach by jumping straight into the project and playing around, without styles or auto-layouts. I simply followed the client's brand guidelines.

All of that was built without constraints, just knowledge and craftsmanship. No AIs involved. Some might say a week is too long, but client interactions, ideas, and suggestions all played their part. Everything happened in real collaboration using both tools. 🎨

So, this email comes to you with a simple message: it's always great to take time for something you enjoy. It doesn't have to be anything big. Want to go swimming? Do it! Often, take your kids, a friend, or just your brain with you. 🏊‍♂️

Step outside with your inner kid - it will make your work and feelings about work more open, both to you, your colleagues, and clients! 🌟
