Packwise runs container logistics. Renting, tracking, cleaning, maintenance. The whole pipeline. But the app got in the way. Managers couldn't get to data fast. Tables were clunky. Developers had no design system, so every small change took longer than it should. The app also needed to work for a global audience with accessibility as a baseline, not an afterthought.
The goal
Rebuild from the ground up. Wireframes, design system, UI. Make it faster to use for the people who actually live in it: 64% managers, the rest C-suite. And bring dev costs down by giving the engineers a system they can ship from instead of guessing.

The process, phase by phase
Wireframing
Mapped the current app with the client. Found the real pain points, not the assumed ones. Tested layouts that cut clicks and fixed the data-heavy table screens. Iterated on responsive wireframes until the client signed off.
Design system
Replaced the old setup with a fresh Figma system. Typography, color variables, modular components. Documented every piece with use cases, breakpoints, and responsive rules so engineers ship without guessing.
UI design
Designed around managers and execs who need answers fast. High contrast for office and outdoor use. Navigation rebuilt so users always know where they are and what comes next.
What I would do differently
I'd front-load the dev handoff conversation. The design system worked, but I learned what engineers needed in their docs as I went. Next time I'd lock that in week one. Naming conventions, responsive rules, interaction specs, all agreed before the first component lands in Figma. It saves cleanup at the end and helps the system actually get used.
